Welcome to Drinks Service, a roaming dinner party series hosted by S.O.S. Each volume is created with hospitality friends who share the belief that wine is cultural, communal, and joyful. 'IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE'

We’re hosting the second edition of DRINKS SERVICE, a dinner party series by S.O.S.
The theme is IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE — Wong Kar-wai’s agonisingly beautiful story of unrequited love, missed opportunity and all the things left unsaid. Widely considered a masterwork of cinema, it’s a film built around colour, atmosphere, repetition and longing.
Random? Maybe. But when was the last time someone reminded you that food and wine are art — and that both are better when there’s meaning behind them?
Chef Laura Harding will serve an à la carte menu inspired by Hong Kong’s cha chaan tengs. Think abalone congee, steamed barbecue buns and Hong Kong-style fried peanut butter French toast, with the full menu still to come.
Alongside it will be a one-off wine list curated by Cyndal, featuring wines from China and local bottles chosen specifically for the food, mood and film. Most are otherwise unavailable to purchase in WA.
To get the most out of the night, we highly recommend watching In the Mood for Love beforehand. You’ll notice more. But even without seeing it, expect an epic dinner built around flavour, atmosphere and a little cinematic longing.

Our very first Drinks Service event! Hosted at Beaconsfield Wine Bar, Fremantle.
Each course will feature a wine from Matt and a wine from Cyndal. A slight battle-off, if you will.
